I graduated from the University of Denver Graduate Social of Work in 2023 with a Master of Social Work Degree. In my graduate studies I concentrated on mental health and trauma and gained a strong background in evidence-based mental health interventions and models of care. After graduation, I became licensed in Washington state as an Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker (LSWAIC). I then worked as a psychotherapist for a private mental health agency in Bellingham Washington. I gained experience working with clients experiencing depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, anxiety, grief, ADHD, and OCD as well as other mental health disorders.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and have experience in using EMDR with clients who have experienced trauma to dramatically reduce symptoms of trauma and triggers.
Prior to my career in mental health, I was a clinical educator and registered nurse. The experience I gained in these professional roles provided me with strong knowledge of how mental and physical health are deeply connected.
I believe that when an individual is experiencing challenging physical health problems, strong emotional health can be maintained and increase the quality of life of the individual and their family. This is also true for individuals with mental health challenges. Maintaining and improving physical health almost always has a positive effect on mental health.
Personally, I have a family member with a bipolar health diagnosis and have both lived experience and evidence-based knowledge about treatment and the most effective therapy models in working with individuals with bipolar. I am committed to utilizing the most effective interventions and types of therapy that address the issues you are most concerned with. I understand how difficult it can be to find the right therapist. I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation where we can discuss what brings you to therapy and what you hope to expect. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and see if we are a good fit.
